Happy Anniversary to this six year old community.  Now 20 000 member strong, Dream.in.code is a community where you will find programmers and web developers. 

It offers oodles of programming information including forums, tutorials and code snippets.  If you are putting together your own websites, this may be a site you’d like to visit.  Members get to ask programming questions and get them answer by programmers for free.

They offer a couple of free programming magazines, and a cool t-shirt (after you have made 500 posts in the forums).

I took a quick browse through the forums and they look pretty good!  Forums on building a website, html/css/javascript, site check just to name a few.  This is a site that I will be bookmarking to have handy the next time I run into trouble building my sites

I was reading a post today on Newbies to Experts entitled 3 Easiest Ways for a Newbie to Jump into Affiliate Marketing, and it got me  to thinking.  How do you decide what would be a good product to market as an affiliate? 

Before deciding what product you want to market as an affiliate marketer, take the following into consideration:

• Is there a market for this product? - Do your keyword research.  Is this product being searched for? The more specific the keyword being searched often the better chance you will have for a sale.  For example a search term of “hp all in one officejet”  is much more specific than just “inkjet printer”.  The person obviously knows what they are shopping for and is likely just looking for the best deal.
• Have you tried the product? You don’t have to do this, but I would recommend it.   I try to have personal knowledge of the products I intend to market you can then give a personal review of the product and it does come across in your sales page whether or not you have actually tried the product.
• Are there other positive reviews?
• What is the conversion rate of the product? - how many people do you need to refer to the product’s website to make a sale.
• How much money do you make per sale?
• What are your expenses to get that sale?
• What is your ROI? If you have a product that converts at 1 per 100 clicks and you make $20/sale that’s great, but how much are you paying for that sale?  If you’re doing a ppc campaign and going to have to pay .25/click, you will actually be losing money.  You would have to pay $25 for the 100 clicks to make the sale for a $20 take on the product.

You likely won’t know the answer to all of these questions and it is only my testing the product and different methods of promotion that you will learn what works and what doesn’t.

The other thing I’ve found through experience is that you don’t want to sign up for every affiliate program you see, that does get really confusing.  It’s best to do your research and decide if the product is going to be a good fit for you and not every product will be.

Health Adel is a new site providing information and articles on medical health information.  It puts the information together in an easy to understand format.

Take for example this article on Multiple Sclerosis Symptoms. It doesn’t get into the huge technical mumbo jumbo that a regular reader like me would just as easily click away from as read.

It tells in a short brief description, what the symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis are in a way that a non-medical person could gain some knowledge. 

I like that.  You should check it out.

This has been such a great week.  Things are really starting to happen.  Do you know what has made a big difference? I let go of the goals and expectations.  I am online having a huge amount of FUN!  Since I did that (through working with loa) people have started to contact me…I’m not chasing what to do and trying to figure what would be the best choice.  I’m just letting it happen, and it is.

O.K. that said, one of the ways that I’m having fun is on MySpace.  I love meeting new people and I have friends all over the world Germany, England, Morocco just to name a few.  It’s great.  If you don’t have a space of your own, what are you waiting for?

Social Networking, Tips and Tools

I received this video clip today of Oprah After the Show.  It was very revealing to me.  One of the questions asked was “how do you let go” of what you are thinking/feeling and begin to move forward.  This was very interesting to me.

The answer was what’s stopping you or keeping you where you are, what are you afraid of.  How the panel went through and answered this ladies question was just great.  It really hit home for me.

You know how it is when you stay in a hotel with your young family.  When it’s time to put the kids to bed, that’s often the end of the evening for mom and dad too (sshhh, the kids are sleeping). 

What if you were able to rent a REAL suite?  The kids could go off to bed and the adults would be able to stay up and actually enjoy the evening, maybe have some friends over for a drink.

AllStays.com says the definition of suite is”an accommodation comprising of more than one room”.  Often hotels try and call a big room with a sofa bed a suite…that’s not a suite! That’s a big room with a sofa bed.

Check the hotel suites directory for a list of hotels that provide real suites at reasonable rates, and enjoy your vacation.

When I am just getting interested in a subject, I like to look online to see what I can find.  Often times I will find ebooks for $47, $97 or even $197 that are way too much information for what I’m needing to see.

I want something that is no frills, no fluff, straight to the point.  Just for example, if I’m looking to learn the best time and fastest method to plant my flower garden - I don’t need a 200 page ebook to tell me how to do it.  Nor do I have time to read one.
