Gone Fishing…

Not Really, but I have left town for a couple days.

I have to go out to my trailer in B.C., and get it all winterized before the weather turns too cold. In the mountains, that can happen fast.

I’ve also taken this time to have a mom weekend. I’ve left my kids at home with an excellent care provider. Time to relax and get grounded before school starts on Tuesday.

Don’t worry, I’ll have preplanned posts set up for you through out the weekend, and I will respond to any comments you leave on Sunday evening. Keep going on the challenge!!

Have a great long weekend everyone.

Expect the Best,

Friday Fun Day ~ Everybody needs one of those once in awhile…right?

I’m declaring today mine :)

I’ve been working hard all week, cruising around, researching materials, doing stuff with the my kids to get them ready for school.

I’ve seen so many good things online that I’ve wanted to check out, but haven’t dared take the time with my schedule this week.

So today I’m going to be out and about commenting friends, and making new ones, checking out interesting blogs, that sort of thing. Relax grab a cup of coffee, and just have some fun.

It’s Friday anyway and nobody wants to work right?

The Plan - To Increase Daily Readers by Doubling or Better My RSS Subscribers in September… Anyone want to Play?

Way back in May, I had participated in a challenge to Increase RSS subscriptions by 500 in a month. I never did reach that goal, but I haven’t forgot about it either.

What went so wrong?

I think a few things:

The Law of Attraction - How can I be a Supportive Friend?

How can I keep a positive vibe going while my friends are just going through it?

This is more a question I have than an informational post. My hope is that we can get a great discussion going. I’m sure that I’m not the only one that deals with this issue.

If you are a regular reader of HWH, you will know that I’ve had a bit of a rough go these past few months. I’ve lost 2 close family members, and that coupled with other things in my life have made these past 3 or 4 months very stressful.

That being said, I’ve realized that though I do my daily gratitudes, I’ve gotten away from much of LOA. My mother happened to pick me up a book the other day on LOA. Which was perfect timing, because I had just made the commitment that I needed to get back to that way of thinking. To start taking care of me again.

Staying positive where my life is concerned is one thing. I can deal with that. It’s actually really easy when I start to think of all that I have to be grateful for…

My question is how do I stay positive and live the Laws of Attraction, when all around me is grief and despair?

I’m not talking about acquaintances. These are very close, long term friends. They have been there to see me through so many of the rough spots. And now they are dealing with death, disease and illness in their families.

I want and need to be a supportive friend to them. How do I not allow that negativity to creep into my thoughts and emotions? And No, letting them go as friends is NOT an option to me.

I’m going to start reading the book tonight to see if I can find a solution. But, in the meantime I thought I’d start off a discussion here and see what kind of reponse I get.

I post the question to you…

I want and need to be a supportive friend to them. How do I not allow that negativity to creep into my thoughts and emotions?

Expect the Best,

Saying Thanks and Being Grateful

I was cruising around this morning and 2 posts caught my attention.

The first was from Darren at ProBlogger - Email a Blogger that Linked to You to Say Thanks . This is part of his series “31 days to build a better blog”. He talks about how a simple email to say thank you when some one links to your post can go a long way in building relationships.

The other is Tinu from Increase Your Website Traffic - Thank Yous All Around - An Extra Traffic Method and The Story of the Day. Tinu had a tough day yesterday, with server problems. She says that the best way to turn your day around is to be grateful and do for others.

Take time to read them both, they are excellent.

This burns me no end… “It’s not like she’s a stay at home mom you know”

We had just finished a 2 1/2 hour appointment (it had been scheduled for one hour). I had 4 people asking me different questions, about different things all at the same time. My son is really congested and can’t clear his throat, so was choking. Plus by this time, he was an 1 1/2 hours late for his lunch.

Blog Catalog - another great web 2.0 site

Spending time social networking is something that I try to do each day.  In fact, it would be easy for me to spend the entire day on social networks, reading other blogs and commenting.  Time can just fly away… but we’ll deal with that on another blog post. Read the rest of this entry »
