All week I’ve been meaning to look at a brand new web 2.0 product for a friend of mine, this product hasn’t even been released yet. I finally got to it yesterday afternoon.

Keep in mind that I am leaving this morning to a family reunion as you read the rest of my story.

This product is called Web 2.0 Wealth Unleashed and has to do with installing wordpress blogs.

I need to upgrade my blog to a new more web2.0 looking site.

I started going through the video training that Alex has provided as part of the package, and started thinking how easy this is. Even a brand new newbie could install this by listening to these videos…

Anyway, I get this brainy idea that I’m going to upgrade my site now. By this time it’s about 4:00 in the afternoon. Keep in mind, I still have to pack, take care of my children, finish cleaning my fish tank and be out the door by 9:00 this morning.

I emailed Alex to let him know my plan. (I think he thought I was maybe a bit crazy ).

I set to work.

I am not a complete newbie. I’ve made a few blogs and a few websites. Should be easy. The thing I didn’t take into account was that this package was to be used in the creation of a brand new blog, not re-doing your existing blog.

I did three backups (I have 8 months worth of content :eek:).

Going through the videos and pausing to following along and do everything step by step. Loading the latest version of wordpress, all of the prepackaged plugins and the new theme.

It went really smoothly.

Then came the part where I about lost it, and it’s got nothing to do with Web 2.0 wealth. I had my backups, but I had no idea what to do with them!! I’ve never had to re-load a backup. Plus in putting the new stuff on I had to change to a new database and actually ended up wiping out the old one!!!

Oh Crap!

I’m so screwed I thought, 8 months down the drain…

I did what I had to do with the kids and packing and came back to the blog. Not being a quitter, I played and searched until I finally figured out how to re-load my data. I got my backup re-installed at 11:00 last night.

Then I had to play around with the look of the page. I still can do some more tweaking with the look of the page and monetization but… it will be OK until I get home from the re-union

I did it!!!

I got it done, and even managed to get some sleep!!

I have a few points to make in this story:

This new package is awesome (I can tell you from personal experience).
Don’t EVER try and re-do your whole page the day before you leave on vacation.
Web 2.0 Wealth will be great for ANYONE who is wanting to install a wordpress blog.
My fish are saying thank you for cleaning our tank.
I’m gonna have a nap when I get to the trailer.

Watch for me to tell you more about this new package in the coming days. I really think it is a great product.
