What makes you a “Plugin Geek”?
I’m not sure, but I think I may need to join a local PA group (plugins anonymous).
Help - I’m becoming obsessed!
Adding plugins to your blog is a great way to improve efficiency, increase traffic, and just add neat little features. I’m always on the look out for a great new plugin.
It started back a few months ago, when I first downloaded the amazing Authority Black Book. It has so many awesome plugins featured in it. After reading the book and then downloading the plugins, I did notice an almost immediate increase in the traffic to my blog. Jack at FTR keeps posting his new plugin finds, like this latest entry on the Goobar plugin (I’ll be downloading later today).
Some of the plugins that I would really recommend to any blogger are:
WWSGD (What would Seth Godin Do) - Displays a custom welcome page to your new visitors inviting them to subscribe to your feed. This will be displayed the first few times a visitor drops by your site.
Share This - Lets your visitors share a post with others using the popular social bookmarking sites.
Subscribe to Comments - Notifies commentators of new comments that have been added to the post. This is a great tool. It encourages your readers/commentators to continue the discussion.
Do Follow - This plugin will disable the nofollow tagging from comments. Check out the this post for more information on this very useful plugin.
Drop Down Archive widget - Frees up valuable space on your sidebar
Akismet - Does an awesome job at fighting spam comments.
WP PlugIM - Easy installation of the plugim button to site. This is a great button to have for any blog related to interet marketing.
UTW (Ultimate Tag Warrior) - This plugin can do amazing things. Everything you need concerning tagging. A must to download.
OK so there are some of my favorites. I could keep listing them all night, but I think that this should split into two parts. Plugins are amazing and can really enhance your time as a blogger.
I certainly don’t think that I have reached geek status yet. ;) I think maybe I just have a healthy addiction to finding ways to improve my blog. :)
What are some of your favorite plugins. Any in particular that really increased your traffic? What about ones that made your site more reader friendly?
Expect the Best,

Heather this is great stuff. I am getting the feeling that I am going to have to hire a Wordpress designer and have a site designed for me. I’m pretty good with uploading stuff and inserting widgets - anything that someone else has designed but I seriously doubt my abilities to design a WP site and transfer my Blogger site over.
How come WP has cooler gadgets than Blogger?
