June 1st Already - Time to Review & Revise

Back on May 5th, I set forth business goals that I had hope to get accomplished before the end of June when my kids are out of school for summer.

I am making 3 - 5 business goals that I plan to achieve in that time.  I’m even going to post them so you can see how I’m doing.

  1. Increase my readership on this blog between 30 - 50% for both the month of May and the month of June.  I will base this increase on “unique” visitors to my site.  How will I accomplish this?  You can help me lots.   If you enjoy reading this blog, tell your friends about me, and add me to your blogroll. ;)
  2. Create a business plan for those ideas I have been hinting at for the past few weeks, get it put into place.
  3. Create an guide or report to help newbie moms.
  4. Increase my Google PR for the next time page ranks are adjusted in about 3 months time.

I think that’s enough.  If I get it accomplished, I will be very pleased.

Unfortunately due to the passing of my dad on May 16, these goals are going to need to be revised a bit.  I was unavailable for almost 2 weeks of May, but let’s take a look in review anyway…

1. I did manage to increase my “uniques”  by 23% over April.

2. I do have a good start on my business plan though nothing is complete and in report form yet.

3. I didn’t get to create the guide.  I’m planning on working on that this summer at the lake.

4. Work is in progress on increasing my Google PR next time they come around.

Overall, I’m pleased with that, considering what our family had to go through last month.

What are your plans for business during the summer months?  Does your business slow down? Are you a WAHM that has to try and juggle the kids being home and your work schedule?

Personally, I’m getting so anxious for summer vacation to begin.  I’ve already been out to the lake once, and I can hardly wait to pack up and go for more than a weekend.  I’m glad I have my laptop and projects planned so I don’t feel guilty taking the time to enjoy.

I can also tell ya that by about mid August I will be singing the “going back to school” chant and ready for schedules and routines to begin again ;)

Countdown to Summer ~ Enjoy Your Freedom soon They’ll be Home

I was reading my friend Lisa Marie’s myspace blog yesterday and she was talking about when she has sent her kids off too school the last few days that she has been missing them.  I told her she better get that fixed, very soon they will be home with us for two full months.

Now don’t get me wrong…I love the summer and spending time with my boys.  It’s great!  We go camping, have BBQ’s do a bit of sight seeing, time with family and friends.  Fabulous memory making stuff!

But…schedules are off, routines are broken, blogs, websites and business take a backseat.

This is all good and why we stay home in the first place - to spend time with the kids.

What it does mean is that we have to be even more organized and prioritized.  If we want to give our kids great summer memories (and in my opinion, this should be #1 on the list), as well as continue with running our businesses (which can’t just stop for two months, we do need to find the time), as well as keep our homes running smoothly, we have to be on top of it.

I have about seven weeks until school is out for summer.  How long do you have where you live?

For me in this time, it is important to get some things accomplished:

  • Take care of Mama.  Right now, it important to spend that bit of extra time on yourself, pamper yourself, rest up, read that book that you have been putting off.  Come summer you definitely won’t have time.
  • Plan your activities for the kids this summer.  Make some general plans, so that at the end of June you don’t end up with 2 months of blank space to fill.  We will be spending as much time as we can out at the lake and our trailer.  This is always a favorite for my family.  When we are home, I have my boys registered in a day camp for special needs kids.  They need something to keep them stimulated, motivated and involved.
  • Set some goals to achieve for my online business and get it accomplished between now and the end of school.  Get as organized and prepared as you can to be spending less time on work and more time on family for the summer months.

I have about seven weeks before the kids will be home.  So what business goals can I set in that time period that are realistic, will move my business ahead, and won’t make me crazy between now and then?

Now this is a suggestion, but you are more than welcome to do it with me…

So what are you going to do between now and summer to advance your business?  I’d love to hear about it in the comments section.  If you have any questions, I’d love to hear those too :)

And Lisa Marie - I think you should play along here…Don’t be missing them now - LOL, you got to much to do Mama!
