Made Me Stop to Think…
I received this video from a friend on Facebook, and it really has made me take some time this morning to think.
This is a speech given to a graduating class of ‘99. Many of you have probably seen it already.
Do you ever wish that you could be back at that day, just starting out with all those choices and years yet in front of you?
Do I wish that I were starting out again at my high school graduation?
Not a chance.
That was a whole other world ago… I didn’t do high school much, in fact I spent as little time actually in the school as I could. I would never want to go back to that portion of my life. Would I have done things differently? Maybe a few things, but nothing substantial to change who or where I am now.
People come in and out of your life, so does opportunity. You either take it or you don’t. Sometimes they come back around again, sometimes they don’t. And I truly think that if it’s a person or an opportunity that you NEED in your life, it will keep coming around again in one form or another until you can NOT ignore it anymore. And when you are ready, you will see it, and take it.
I also believe that when you no longer need them, they will go. They have taught you what they need (like my Dad or old friends). That is part of life…
Maybe I’m being extra reflective because this week is the first anniversary of Home with Heather, maybe it’s because of conversations that I’ve been having with my friends who have been going through some struggles of their own. I’m not sure.
I guess the thing that I’m trying to get across here is that we don’t need to be just starting out to have new experiences… new friends, new opportunity, new life and love.
What I think is that we need to be happy and grateful with who we are, ever changing and growing. Open our eyes and hearts to new things and they will happen.
For me: I am a mom of two high needs boys, who need me greatly. I try and blog to help others and to help myself. I’m happy with that for now. Do I want more for myself? Absolutely, and it will be when it is time.
The people that are in my life are there for a reason and I am truly honored to call them friends.
What about you? Are you happy with where you are in life… do you want to start over? What do you want to change? What are you waiting for?
Love and Peace to you.
This is a blog I posted on myspace this morning… I’m not sure if it’s the right kind of blog to post on HWH. But I wanted to get your thoughts. It does have to do with the Law of Attraction, and I do think that as mom’s, wahm’s or whatever that it is important to reflect at times.
If we don’t know where we are in life and business, how can we know where we’re going?
Expect the Best,

Hi Heather, Congratulations on your First Anniversary! I love your reflective post, it fits the “theme” of my business which is to decide what you want and go out and make it happen. And you’re so right life is all about changes. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Heather,
First of all, congrats for making it this far. Running a blog for one year is no easy task as you can see tens of thousands of blogs getting started and going nowhere in a matter of months. So, congrats.
As far as your question goes, I’m happy to be where I am today and I feel I have the potential to go where I want to go. As far as my past goes, some of the things were completely screwed up, but then no regrets. It’s all part and parcel of childhood and teenage.
Love
Kris

Hi Heather!
I’ve been far too busy and I haven’t read your blog for a while. I checked bloglines and discovered that I had 40 posts to get caught up on! A quick scroll through reminded me just how much great content you share! So on that note, I want to congratulate you on your first anniversary for creating a very worthwhile and helpful blog!
Thanks also for sharing the video. I agree for the most part with the narrator’s perspective. Actually brought a few tears to my eyes. But would I want to start over? No, absolutely not! Being young can be tough.
Good luck with all the many things you have going on in your life!

@ Heather - I think the “theme” of your business is great and a well needed resource.
@ Kris - The things that were screwed up in your past have brought you to where you are today… and believe me we all have them.
@ Lori - Good to hear from you. I’ve missed seeing you. Hope all is well. Thank you for your kind words. I would not want to go backward either. It can be very tough just starting out now a days.

Made me Stop to Think…
If given the opportunity to go back to your high school graduation would you? Or are you at this time where you feel you should be in business and in life?…

Congrats on the 1 year anniversary Heather and keep going. Just a note - the book cover listed under your “How To” heading has the word “Profitable” spelled wrong. Makes it look a little unprofessional.

Thanks Kalena.
I see the error on the cover and will check into it, thanks for pointing that out
