My kids and I just got back from a week at Radium Vacation Resort.  We went with another family and had an awesome time.  The kids got the break they’ve been needing from school.  They got to swim and play and explore nature.  The mom’s got some much-needed relaxation time.  And we all spent a week of quality family time together.

Every morning when we woke up, we were greeted by nature.  There was a flock of wild turkeys living around the condo where we stayed.  Each morning they would come for a breakfast of bread scraps and whatever other miscellaneous items we had lying around the kitchen.  There were also plenty of deer and big horn sheep that would come strolling through the park each day.  The kids thought this was amazing. 

My oldest son was so excited to capture one such Ram walking only two feet from our deck; he grabbed the camera and went speeding right into the closed patio window!  Bang – ooo that had to hurt! It was a scene straight from AFV, and it took everything in me to keep a straight face as I nursed him back to composure.  Luckily, he wasn’t hurt and he can laugh about it now.

All the kids got their fill of swimming.  We had the pool at the resort to ourselves everyday.  Even my youngest son who is wheelchair bound went for his daily dip in the pool.  It absolutely amazed me at how much he loved the water and how mad he’d get at me everyday when I would take him out.  It would make my heart smile to see him so happy.
We did a bit of Christmas shopping in Invemere and explored all the cute little shops they have.
