Happy Birthday to Me!
I officially wrote my first blog post one year ago today. It was the standard Hello World that comes with every wordpress install.
What a year it’s been.
When I started out with Home with Heather I was fed up with trying different MLM’s. HWH was meant to be a few things for me. A way to keep my mind busy as I stay home to take care of my boys. A way to learn, grow and meet new people. And a way to replace my off line income so that I didn’t have to worry about that part of my life anymore and would be free to just stay home and love on my boys as they grow up. I have accomplished most of that and though I have not yet been able to replace my off line income, that will come in time.
Honestly, I had no clue how to set up a blog, manage and upkeep it, or write posts that anyone would actually read. Many times I felt like quitting. Some days I still do. That’s what happens to most new blogs and websites. The business owner gets frustrated when they aren’t making the same amount as Lynn Terry is after the first month and quit. What they forget about is that Lynn has been doing this for 11 years. She’s gone through the learning, and the struggles.
I’ve learned a lot in the last year, and of course I still have much more to learn. I’ve said it before that I’m a numbers girls, very analytical. I never thought I would be writing articles, reports and blogging to help others… but I love it. And you know that if I can do it, ANYONE can.
Home with Heather started out as a blog/website and has since gone through 2 different updates. I have streamlined it, and really tried to uncomplicate the whole process. I’ve had this latest design since sometime in August, and really enjoy the look and feel to it.
November will be a month of celebration for me:
- I will be writing a report to tell about my online journey. Things that have worked and things that haven’t. My main objective with this will be to help others who are just starting out to save time, money, and frustration.
- I will be running a contest starting in the next few days.
- I will be starting a new meme, that’d I’d like all of my readers to get involved in.
I want this month to be the best and most helpful month ever on Home with Heather. Thank you to my readers for reading, I hope I can continue to help and motivate you with your online journey over the course of the next year.
Expect the Best,
