One of the goals that I want to achieve before the end of June is to increase my blog readership by 30 - 50% both for the month of May and the month of June. 

That’s a great goal Heather…How the heck are you going to reach it?

I’ve been researching on ways that I can help increase the regular readers of this blog.

1. Ask for it.  That’s almost too simple.  I have moved the location for my RSS feed to make it easier to find.  Another great tip I’d discovered from the Authority Black Book, is to add the ‘What would Seth Godin do’ plugin.
2. Go looking for readers.  This can be done of course through social networking, and becoming involved in the blogosphere. 
3. Get folks interested in what you’ve got to say so they do come back for more. 
4. Encourage the loyal readers that you already have to refer their friends.
5. Don’t miss posting.  If you miss posting to your blog for 5 days or a week people are going to lose interest and stop checking in.
6. Make your content interesting, let your personality shine.
7. Use comments and trackbacks whenever you can, visit blogs that are relevant and interesting.  Don’t just comment with “nice post”.  Post a quality comment that will enhance the blog.  Trackbacks need to be on topic and relevant.
8. Edit your posts.  Proof read  your content more than once.  If you know that you’re awful with grammar and spelling have a friend proof read them for you. 
9. Work on getting more comments & trackbacks on your own blog. (look for a post on this)
10. Get quality incoming links (look for a post on this too ;))

That’s a start.  I’m going to get working on these items for the rest of this week and then I’ll be back with more.  What ways have you found to increase readers to your blog?  I love to hear them.
