Joy, Laughter and Play
As I’m busy working around HWH this morning, my “roomie” has got a local news program on in the back ground. One of the stories they are talking about is a local women’s fair coming up this weekend.
One of the ladies (sorry, didn’t catch the name) is talking about the 3 things that we need everyday to thrive. It just really clicked with me because I’m big on these things anyway, and I think they are so important for everyone, but especially for work at home moms.
So What are the Three Things?
- Joy
- Laughter
- Play
Everyday we are going to run into situations that will make us angry, stress us out or give us pain. Although we can try and limit these things, they are a part of life. We have to learn to deal with it and “suck it up”.
What really helps to keep it in balance is making sure that we also enjoy the other side of the coin DAILY. Take the time to experience joy, laughter and play.
I’ve always said that it is important to laugh daily, a good “belly” laugh will increase the seratonin in your brain. Producing enough seratonin is key in keeping you “feeling good” and having a good vibe going.
Even on my worst days, when everything is going wrong, I really try to take some time to be joyful, and laugh. I do admit that I need to make more time to “play”.
The lady on the news show said that it’s like a big teetor-totter and that is the joy, laughter and play are up in the air… the flip side of anger, stress, and pain HAVE to be on the bottom end of the teetor-totter.
Do you make time for these things everyday? Even if it means laughing at yourself.
Next time you are feeling really negative emotions coming take a step back. Take some time to calm and get your joy back. Listen to some music, play a game with your kids, go for a walk, or get a cup coffee and call one of your girlfriends to just chat. Do what you have to do to get your feeling and mood back in check.
Part of the Law of Attraction is making sure that you are “feeling good”. It’s like the analogy they use on the movie “The Secret”, when you stub your toe out of bed things start to spiral and the day will continue to get worse. If you can stop right then and get your feelings in check, you can turn the day around.
Try it and see. Keep note of how you are feeling. When you are feeling good, good things will happen… promise
Anyway, I’m off my soapbox. I just had to share.
Happy Friday!
Expect the Best,

Heather, this is a great article for women. In my business I try to teach women to put some fun into their lives because after all isn’t living a passionate life what life is really about. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this and taking the time to remind us what we really need to focus on!

I agree with you Heather. Some days can be very stressful. As women we a generally so busy taking care of business, and of our families and friends, whatever…
I so often am the lowest on my own list of priorities. I’m trying to learn that I need to take care of me in order to be well enough to take care of the rest.
