Project Update: O What a Beautiful Morning….
It started off at 5:03 AM with a phone call from my friend Linda and she says “She’s had two pups”. “OK, I’m on my way” I said. Thankfully I’m staying at my mother’s house due to my renovation and so I kind of have a built in babysitter. We had figured it would be a middle of the night delivery.
I get stuff ready for the kids to get off to school, and then take off to Linda’s house. We waited for an hour for the next pup to be born. It was a stillborn, poor baby.
The rest of the pups started coming very quickly… 15 minutes apart. Poor Budabelly, this is her first time being a mom. After 6 she was really tired and needed some rest so didn’t deliver number 7 for about an hour. It was a bit labored in breathing, but I managed to pull it through and now it’s squirming all over the place.
Pup number 7 was being born and needing my help just as I got a call from my son’s teacher. His assistant called in sick at the last minute and there was nobody to take care of him today. I called the house but it was too late, he had already been loaded onto the bus heading for the school. I called the school back, they still couldn’t get a sub so I called the handi-bus and had him delivered back home. Again thankfully my mom would be home today and able to care for him. This is all going on while I’m trying to save the life of puppy number seven. AND ALL BEFORE 8:30 AM.
So the pups are all doing fine. I think there is one more, but it’s not coming out and poor Buda is so tired, she just needed to rest.
I was suppose to meet my cabinet guy at my house at 10:00 so he could start installing the kitchen cabinets (Yay!) He calls me at 9:30 saying he’s already at my house. I quickly change my blood soaked shirt and head over to meet him. As he is ripping out the cabinets, he informs me that my plumber guy did not do what needed to be done on the weekend. We need to get this done in before the cabinets can be installed. I can’t get ahold of this guy and so I’m in a panic to find another plumber who can come out and fix the problem. Thankfully, Linda knew a guy that she kind of sweet talked into helping me out.
This has all happened before 10:30 this morning.
I go back to moms to start getting some other stuff taken care of and I get another call from my cabinet guy. We have to change the plan mid-installation because the was a light switch in the way that we didn’t take into consideration. Either that or wait to find an electrician. It was really a minor change and so I said go ahead and do it that way.
Would you believe today was suppose to be my nice calm blogging day?
Oh well… it’s all working out with a few minor hickups along the way. I’ve never heard of a renovation going seemlessly without any problems, have you?
I have many things to be grateful for today
Puppy Update: Linda just called at 2:00, we have number 8 delivered after a six hour delay. So that means that we have seven very healthy baby American Bulldogs. How sweet. Now I really have to get our bulldog blog up and running.
And how’s your day going so far?
Expect the Best,
